The nativity is the traditional Christmas story of the birth of Jesus Christ. This religious activity focuses on the stable and celebrates religious iconography.
Hanging Nativity Scene
Step 1
Cut each A4 Metallic Felt sheet into four A6-sized pieces. Each student needs one A6 piece.
Step 2
Draw the outline of a stable onto the felt using an EverZart Broad Marker. Add other elements to the scene, such as Mary, Joseph, Jesus, crib, etc.
Step 3
Use a White Perma Pen and the EverZart Broad Marker to add patterns and details – this will add contrast.
NB: Be sure not to colour the entire felt piece – allow the metallic colour to shine through.
Step 4
Cut around the stable outline to emphasise its shape.
Step 5
Punch a hole at the top of the nativity design. Thread a piece of jute through and knot the ends together to make a hanger.
OPTION. Students may also choose to use the same technique to create a star, the three wise men or a scene scape of Bethlehem.
