Amazing Agates

In this video we will use Pearlescent Watercolours to explore geology and paint a shimmering Agate slice.

Lesson 1

Brush a circle of water on your watercolour paper and then paint on a layer of pearlescent paint. The water on the paper will help make the paint disperse.

Lesson 2

Continue creating alternating bands of pearlescent paint making some bands broader and some narrower. You can also add clusters of spots to add some detail.

Lesson 3

Use a mixture of colours to create the crystalised centre and leave your agate slice to dry.
